Our History

1969 Founded by a group of community individuals desiring a residential program to provide services to deaf adult males

1971 Began providing residential services to deaf adult females

1977 A sheltered workshop was added to the program to provide clients the ability to earn money and learn vocational skills

1988 Expanded services to provide “Personal Social Adjustment Training” to clients to assist in acquisition of basic skills needed in community

1999 Observed 30th anniversary of provision of services to the deaf and disabled population of Greater Travis County

2003 Workforce Development services and placement of deaf individuals in jobs in the community
